Hi there,
If anyone has Internet Exporer 10 running metro interface on Windows 8 did you notice that the favicon is now bigger. Take a look at website’s such as Google or TheVerge.com on Internet Explorer 10 Metro and you will see a nice bigger favicon.
However when I take a look at my website http://www.cyberfanatic.com then my favicon just get’s shrinked. Where as TheVerge.com shows a different favicon and Google has a bigger icon.
What size is your favicon?
I believe that IE10/W8 uses 32x32px
But my question is check out Theverge.com on internet explorer 10 on desktop mode you will see that it contains a gray favicon then view it on internet explorer 10 metro mode and you will see that it contains a colored favicon. There has to be an extra snippet piece of code that enables this new functionality
This document tells you how to make an .ico file that has all the different sizes: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ie/gg491740(v=vs.85).aspx It is for IE9, but I believe it is similar for IE10. The IE10 documents link to that page.
There is also this page for how to set the tile image for Windows 8 http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2012/06/08/high-quality-visuals-for-pinned-sites-in-windows-8.aspx
Have you tried other browser
Your Favicon size is 16×17 try to convert to 32×32 px
