Im from China, so sorry for my English.
This is a [question](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15026975/why-does-twitter-implement-a-full-screen-image-like-this/15027244#15027244 “question-on-stackoverflow”) I asked on the stackoverflow.
I would assume that twitter does so to work around some bugs. But the edited version works fine on the ie8. And for ie6, it doesn’t support min-width/hight at all.

I think the kind folks over at StackOverflow gave you some answers.

Does it matter why Twitter do it that way? Is there something you are trying to do in your own work that is not working that you think this can help with?
