ParticipantSo me and a friend have been trying to fix this bug and I for the life of me can’t figure out what’s causing it.
It’s only happening in safari, and it’s causing the whole site to become unresponsive( the hover effects are delayed, everything is lagging, nothing happens when you click on things until like 2 seconds later)/crashing the browser. At first I thought it was the slider but we switched that out and yet it’s still happening. I’ve tried everything from removing custom fonts to disabling sections of the page piece by piece, and still can’t find what’s causing it.
so any advice?April 23, 2013 at 12:24 pm #132881Paulie_D
MemberSo…you haven’t described the bug.
Oh…and you haven’t provided a link so we can see it crashing.

ParticipantUm.. the bug is that the whole page is becoming unresponsive/slow/crashing sometimes.
The link is at the very bottom of my post, it was a ninja edit immediately after I posted :[

ParticipantI’m on firefox and nothing is responsive, might want to add the tag to the top. looked through style.css didn’t find any real media queries as well so how can it be responsive?

MemberDitto in Chrome.

ParticipantOh sorry. I meant unresponsive as in.. doesn’t respond to user interaction, like the hover and clicks are lagging or not working at all. I didn’t mean responsive as in media queries/fluid width.
I’m so sorry for the unclear nature of my question!

MemberThe only part of the page that is slow for me is the slider. The load time is fine it just doesn’t run as smooth as other sliders ive seen.
Other than that the whole page runs fine in Chrome 26.0.1410.64

MemberJust checked in Safari and the hover states and the slider do seem to take longer than in Chrome.

ParticipantHave you tried de-activating each plug-in one at a time to see if there’s an issue with one of them?

ParticipantI’m only seeing elements behaving sluggish within the slider area…

MemberThe hover transitions on the icons on the first slide are very sluggish in Safari compared to Chrome…at least on my kit.
