Web Page with Line Numbers

Hi Everyone,

I need to upload a word document and have a lot of people comment on it. I would like to have line numbers (like one can have in Word) show up on a web version of the document.

Is there any way to do this?

Assuming you want to post the text and note an actual word document…

There are plenty of javascript plugins that add line numbers to content. You can use one that’s meant for code but use it for normal text.

This one for example would add numbers and not add syntax highlighting.

Thanks for the response Andrew!

I saw SyntaxHilighter and CodeHilighter but could not figure out how to preserve the HTML formatting. What I really wanted to do was create an HTML version of the document and have line numbers. I did not want to use ordered lists.
