    I run a custom-built forum on my site I am very happy with, but NicEdit (my current texteditor) is just full of weird quirks. Can somebody recommend a bunch of different texteditors? I need something that balances power with simplicity. Thanks in advance!

    I use Notepad++, which I like very much due to its simplicity and features. For Mac, I suggest Coda

    I googled NicEdit and it’s a wysiwyg editor, so I’m guessing you’re asking for a list of them?

    Wordpress uses TinyMCE.

    Yes, I do mean wysiwyg editors.

    I personally would code HTML for all my forum posts, but I just can’t expect that out of my visitors.

    I should probably add a few things I’m looking for in it:

    • Must be small (50kb or less if possible)

    • Easily extendible – Add custom tags (custom markup)

    • Must look nice (non 1996 theme, please!)

    TinyMCE is great, and you can customize it to be robust or very simple.
