    Hi Friends , I am using background image in input text field but when I finishing type in ie9 and below text is overlapping on image. Below are the css.

    input[type=”text”] { border:1px solid #c5c4c4; background-color:#ffffff; border-radius:0px; -moz-border-radius:0px; -ms–moz-border-radius:0px; -o–moz-border-radius:0px; -webkit–moz-border-radius:0px; float:left; height:21px; line-height:21px; max-width:100%; width:77%; margin-right:5px; background:url(../images/icon-search.png) no-repeat right center; background-origin:padding-box; padding:5px 40PX 5px 5px; padding-right:5px 40PX 5px 5px\9; *padding-right:5px 40PX 5px 5px; }

    Perhaps you could put something in Codepen so we can see the problem?

    However, I would have thought that you would not want the bg image when the box is being completed.

    In which case remove it using the :focus pseudo-class
