We’re creating a web app for iOS that requires locking down the view-port. This means that once we tap the top of the window on landscape orientation in iOS8 the safari bars show up and we can’t get rid of them anymore. We have made our peace with that but there is another problem that we can’t get around.

We have an element vertically centered in our app. When the bars come on the view-port re-sizes and our alignment works great. However, if we now tap the status bar (the one with the battery and time icon) something happens to the view-port and our alignment fails.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    Thanks for your help.
