So i am hopefully about to be releasing a new site soon that needs to take payments online. But im not too sure yet exactly how to go about doing it.
I did a bit of reading around and i apparently need a merchant provider? but then it started saying things like $10,000 deposits, no way could i afford that…
It also mentioned using paypal but i though that the customer would have to create an account for that and then pay which might drive them away. The site would not be doing a lot or sales, may be 4 a month to start but then hopefully increasing to a few hundred possibly thousand. Each sale i would average at around £70.
Could someone please explain the process to me, Chris i know you have are my sites up so i assume you had to go through this when you launched that, perhaps you could shed some light???
Many Thanks for all of your time
Chris
i also have the same problem. the link brought me to an invalid page.
Foxycart is a shopping cart, you will still need a merchant provider. You could look at Paypal and checkout.google.com.
If you’re only going to be starting with a few transactions a month, I’d definitely go the PayPal route. You can always expand later.
