Synopsis:
The web is full of content and any new media/creative student or professional will know that there is a massive amount of information available at our disposal. That is precisely where the problem occurs. Many times, there is so much information that you can’t actually get to the relevant one or, in some cases even, not even find it. Users have to rely on website specific SEO to get to a semi decent, free site and unfortunately many old, irrelevant sites are ranking at the top of search results. In some cases even, users would find a tutorial, do it, only to find out that the source from which it comes from is not credible. Therefore, the problem persists.
SkillsDen is a search engine web application which will aim to simplify the online learning process and eliminate the problem pointed out above by filtering and organizing relevant content. By creating a search engine specially aimed at tutorials and learning resources, users would be able to find more efficient information, quicker.
The service will be free to use for anyone on the web but only registered users will be able to bookmark a tutorial or submit one for review.
SkillsDen is an audience driven application. That means that the users are responsible for its development. Every tutorial has been submitted by a user, reviewed by other users and finally if a certain amount of users have approved and rated it, added to the database so that it may be viewed by others. The idea behind that is to create a community in which everyone contributes to its development.November 11, 2011 at 9:38 am #90510Paulie_DMemberSpam…ish
November 11, 2011 at 12:45 pm #90516standuncanMemberSeems like an ok idea, but I agree with @Paulie_D. Even if this is legit, you presented this is a spamish fashion…
