Suggestions on this Youtube embedder script?

Hey there!

I just recently got fed up with having to deal with Youtube embed’s on my blog, and wanted to make a solution on my own. On purpose, I didn’t look for any existing solutions since I’m trying to learn Javascript better… So I spent the last 36 hours trying to make sense of it, and ended up with this:

I sort of stopped where I was, feeling it was good enough for me, but sharing is caring so I got started with Github and uploaded it here:
