I manage media and web for a sports organization thats been around for a few years.
We’re getting ready to relaunch our shows and I’m struggling to figure out what I should do with the website.
It’s a 2 yr old site built on joomla v1.5 and there are about 200 videos that each have their own pages and some old event pages setup.
Time is not an issue but I’d like to move this thing soon.
Problem is, I can’t decide if I should stick joomla and do the design there or move to another cms or just scrap the whole thing and do a static html site.
We post news about once or twice a week, nothing major.
Where would you go with a project like this? http://spartanfighting.com is the site.
I think that you really should stick to a CMS. I’ve only ever used WordPress, so I don’t know what Joomla is like, but whichever one you feel most comfortable with is the one you should use.
There must also be a way to export the contents of the database in which it’s all stored, if ever you want to move away from Joomla.
But all I can really say is; keep to what you’re comfortable with, and try to put as much order in everything whilst you’re redesigning it, as it’ll be easier to work with later on.
Like how? I’ve used both and they are pretty equal as far as I can tel.
