Hi guys, putting together a wordpress blog and bugs are cropping up. I would be profoundly grateful for any assistance.

    1) If I use !–more– in a post(which I do for all my posts), the p tags are stripped from just the first paragraph in the post. This happens in the individual post page, but not with the post excerpt on the frontpage.

e.g. : http://www.foundwonders.com/art/sculptures/stunningly-detailed-paper-animal-sculptures-by-calvin-nicholls/ , note the misaligned first paragraph. It looks fine on the frontpage at http://www.foundwonders.com (scroll down until you see the eagle again).

I’ve tried disabling widgets exclusive to post pages but I did not see results.

    2) I’m using a custom function to wrap div tags around my images so I can use padding on body text without squashing images, but it’s not working on some posts, seemingly at random.

For example, you can see all the images being wrapped in a custom div here, so my (copypasted code) function is apparently working and compatible with the site: http://www.foundwonders.com/art/sculptures/stunningly-detailed-paper-animal-sculptures-by-calvin-nicholls/ http://www.foundwonders.com/art/photography/elaborately-arranged-item-collections-by-jim-golden/

Inexplicably not working here, so images are being affected by the padding as well: http://www.foundwonders.com/art/illustrations/ethereal-female-portraits-and-blendscapes-oriol-angrill-jorda/ http://www.foundwonders.com/art/photography/mysterious-spheres-light-denis-smith/

    Seriously, what’s going on here?

Ugh, update: It’s not the break tag that does it. All posts have that bug when viewed in their own window. The issue with the div tags remain as I originally described. My apologies, I had tunnel vision after hammering away at the problem.

Actually, it doesn’t strip the full P tags from the first paragraph — it just doesn’t have the first <p> (there IS a closing </p>).

Not sure why really…. do you have a plugin that compresses the HTML code? Cause when I look at the source, there’s no indentation or anyhing, it’s one big chunk of code. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Hi Senff, I do use W3 Total Cache, but nothing seems to change after disabling it. I’ll leave it disabled for the moment to see if you can spot anything new.

    Nope, can’t see anything new.

If you look in your blog post (in the WP admin) and the TEXT tab (not the VISUAL one), does it have a <p> at the beginning there? Or no <p> tags at all (which is normal)?

No, I don’t use p tags in posts, as per normal. The other posts in my blog also have the same bug, and only look normal now BECAUSE I’ve added p tags to every first paragraph. Not exactly a step what I want to keep in my post workflow. :) Still, thank you for helping me out on this.
