    Hello All,

I currently have my own website and I am using a free theme from graphpaperpress.com. I was interested in coding my own website. I saw graphpaperpress released a new theme called "Widescreen."

    http://demo.graphpaperpress.com/widescreen/

I like how they have the slideshow going on in the background and when you click on one of the links on the sidebar it then takes you to the blog. So you do not see the actually "blog" until you get past the first page. I wanted my wordpress theme to function like it but I can go without the extra eye-candy. I would post a graphic I designed to put in place of the slideshow. I know how to code, I just was not sure how I would code the homepage to look different from the actual blogging pages.

    Any direction/ideas would be great.

    Thanks
    Mike

I’m only beginning with WordPress myself but I saw a video cast where the home page was outside the wordpress folder with links into the WordPress theme. That way it can be totally different from the blogging section.
