Spent a couple of hours tearing my hair out over this strange nav bar behaviour in IE7. My selected menu item seems to always be hidden – i tried debugging via the superpreview tool and i think it may be because the anchor tag within the current_page_item class does not have layout. I tried giving all the nav hierarchy "layout" by applying variations like zoom: 1, min-height:1 but still cannot get the thing to show.

Any suggestions for a quick and easy workaround?

So in the end it turned out my efforts looking at the IE7 stylesheet were futile because I had some errant html in the wordpress header file that meant the ie7 stylesheet only loaded correctly from the homepage and not normal pages.

    Big duh moment.
