slicing this layout grungy bg

    I’m having a few planning issues trying to work out how best to slice this layout..

    the top black bg can repeat nicely but the grungy texture which overhangs the top left (the grey speckly stuff) that continues down from the black to the light grey.. and likewise in the footer.. is throwing a spanner in the works..

    I’d use absolute positioning and overflow-x hidden but not sure if there’s a better way…

    So I’d expect you’re trying to have it work in browsers that do not support multiple backgrounds, otherwise I would do that (and then position it though that).

    Positioning absolutely should work. I just think that for semantics’ sake, you should use a `width: 100%` div with a repeating background, and not and img tag.
