Setup a cookie to remember settings once in wordpress

I am trying to find a way of saving a cookie in a browser when someone clicks the accept button before they can go into the site. It is like a modal so the modal box appears when you first go to the site. They read the small print and click accept then they can go into the site. The browser remembers this so won’t appear every time they go onto the site.

At the moment I have this page setup but no way of setting a cookie so that the browser remembers the website.

It is a wordpress site and I have looked at plugins but can’t fine one.

Is there an easy way to set this up, I am not very familiar with PHP though.
