Hello, I’m creating a website that uses absolute positioning to lay itself out. I’m using absolute positioning because of the classic issue of wanting one “column” to have a fixed width (my navigation bar) and the other to expand to the width of the screen. The issue I’m facing is that if my text is longer than can be contained in a single screen, the main “content” bit of my page doesn’t auto expand – the problem is very obvious if you look at my page.
The page can be found here, its css here.

Because I’m like that, I’ve also created a page that illustrates the problem without any of the other mark-up, it is here.

The issue is the same on both IE and Chrome, and the page has valid xhtml.

    Thanks, Wilbur
