scouting for games – feedback

  • # July 9, 2008 at 7:25 am

I have just released a new website and would love to get some feedback. I’m particularly interested in opinions around usability and design.

You can check it out here ->

    thanks in advance

Well the biggest usability problem is is that it doesnt work with javascript disabled. Ignoring that, i like the simple design and the idea of the site!

No offcence, but I think the design is very standard. If you want to make a game-website, try to create the atmosphere of games. Maybe use a character of a popular game? Maybe a dark website is better for a game-site? You can let you inspire by websites of great game-companies? Try to make an own original style. Good luck!

thanks for the feedback guys. Its great to have some unbiased opinions.

I’ve asked for feedback in a couple of other development forums and received similar feedback around the design being too clean and perhaps the scribbly style not matching the rest of the site.

Anyway, we’re hard at work on a redesign and hope to have something live shortly – more cohesive and more stylised.

    thanks for the comments

I agree that the design is nothing special, but the search feature is pretty neat. Different and I am into the liking of that.

thanks for your previous critique of scouting for games.

for the past month we’ve been working on a complete site redesign which is now live!

it would be really useful to get your opinions once again.

you can visit the site at www dot scoutingforgames dot com.

    looking forward to some feedback.
