I’m working on a blog design that has a notebook theme I’m building for it. I wanted to make the comment box look like a scrolling box of ruled paper. The problem is, I don’t know how to get it to scroll with the content (I know IE does it, but it’s not supposed to). Is there some way I can make the textarea look ruled and scroll with the text? I can get the lines to match up with a simple GIF image and specifying a line-height in the css, but when scrolled everything becomes a mess.

Oh, and in case you were cringing at the idea, the lines would be fairly faint against the background, just enough to give the empty space form.

No, that just makes it only scroll with the viewport, not the textarea.

    Just tossed one together

I tossed in some lipsum so you can see what I mean. If you drag the scroll bar, the background won’t go with it, I’ve tried scroll and fixed, neither work (well, i think scroll works in IE, but that’s because it’s wrong).

    Any ideas?
