rss feed extention

i have have been a bit buisy that i feel that im behind on the web world and is in a good feeling, i have found few blogs and started looking through really cool links in twitter and so on

the thing that i would realy like to do is – get the rss feeds of few blogs and an rss feed of my (friends) feeds – though the rss provides a limited backdate

for example if someone subscribes to css-tricks today – they will get all blogs written after 06 December 2009 18:55

is there a way of changing the date to earlier or better still to unlimite – this would be helpfull for the code snippets for example

The number of items to display in the feed is usually determined by the site. There are very few feeds (that I know of) that go beyond 10-15 items.
