One thing you might want to use also is Bootstrap.

There is a newer version also which goes for mobile first and little more complex so I recommend using the link I gave to get the feel for it in my opinion. Look over the entire site too as they show you some useful techniques already created in the bootstrap so you basically can just copy and paste and just re-style things as needed. But it is a great framework.
