I understand, that when using font-awesome, for example, the icons will resize automatically. But if I would buy something like this http://graphicriver.net/item/glyph-icons-for-blog-48px/3447133?_ga=1.59378477.1667659260.1421714571

then how would I set the icons to resize correctly with different screens widths and mobile ?

you can try this https://icomoon.io/ to make your own icon font. This make the resize easier.

The icon pack has AI files so you could save them as SVG which works great as well!

@blackhiu , I checked out IcoMooon, but I dont understand what I get for the paid version vs free. With the free signup, would I be able to upload icons and use them permanently in my designs or will my uploaded icons not work after X amount of days , until I pay for a membership ?

And do uploaded icons have to be SVG? Or will it work if they are PNG , AI or PSD ? I assume that if it must be SVG, then I can use Gimpshop to somehow save the PNG , AI or PSD files somehow to SVG ?

Thanks for all the help guys

if you choose to go the SVG route and want to have the same quality at any size then you would have to export the vector image from the AI file to the SVG format. I know that Illustrator can do this not sure about Gimpshop. There’s even ways of spriting SVGs, I think Chris covered it a while back.

I think this might help you: SVG Compendium
