Hey team. I am building responsive websites for the smart phones and tablets as well as desktop and laptop. I just purchased a Dell computer laptop to test my sites using IE11 which the laptop provided with its 8.1 operating system. What i would like to be able to do as well as test Internet Explore 8 & 9 on this same computer so that i could fix them. Is there a way I can do this? Is there a website that allows you to view your sites in IE7, IE8, IE9. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
Forget paying $20 a month for browerstack, since you have a windows system just download:
You can also force IE to render in older modes.
Hit F12 to bring up the inspector. The browser mode and document standards switch is in the top menu on the right.
Microsoft provides free VMs with IE6 – IE11 for dev testing. Best option, IMO. Cheaper and quicker than browserstack, more accurate and reliable than compatibility modes.
++ to using the free VMs. They are amazing.
