Problem with Css Tricks Anything Slider

Hi im just looking for a really simple slider that I can load images in to from a database and it will loop through them.

Im just at the stage of trying to get it to work across the browsers manually first.
Here is a link to the page im trying to display the slider on:

It also changes the URL which I dont want if possible and if you reload the page it breaks:

I need it to display an image and link to a url on the site.
It wont display a nice fixed size it distorts and uses up loads of room for some reason?

Can anyone see something obvious that ive done wrong, I would really appreciate some support on this as I have very little time to get it working.
