Has anyone here ever put documentation/tutorials/blog posts in their portfolio?
I think this might make a huge difference to potential employers
I’m thinking of writing a tutorial or two as a guest writer on another site, good idea or not?
When you say portfolio, did you mean the blog section?
I do think it would help, I’ll be looking to hire soon as I’ll be expanding the business and ultimately if a candidate had tutorials showing that he really knew his stuff I’d be pretty impressed.
Also – it will help see if they can translate things in to human language so if they’re dealing with customers they will be able to get everything across.
@josh, For the site I’m working on it will be very minimal and It will have a timeline of my releases and articles so the blog will be external to the portfolio site

I think good documentation ability will help in any job really
