The background is only 37kb in size now.. so that’s not too big!
I agree with aspiringWebbie… Your website should at least look well in IE7 and I recommend you using CSS Sprites, I’ve written an tutorial on how to use those: http://www.mellewynia.nl/english/css/2010/06/22/css-sprites-an-explanation-and-example/
The "Contact" Page has a form with "Please note that all fields with a * are required." while every element of the form is required.. Right now the first thing you read is that something is required, in stead of the contact form.
