    What is the most appropriate domain name extension for a development blog “.net” or “.com” ?

    .com is always preferable in my opinion. However, I’ll sometimes use .net if I really want a particular domain name and the .com is spoken for.

    I think the only reason to really get a .net domain is when you’ve already got the .com and you want to preserve your brand name.
