Need Opinion on Portfolio Site

First time posting! Looking for some feedback on my portfolio site.

That is a great idea. I think I was so focused on the 960 design that I neglected to think about the effect of the edges in the header. It does kind of stunt the whole point of the movement in the picture. Thanks!

I was kinda going for a surreal look not a literal one so I didn’t really change the off-kilter feel of the main picture. Thanks for the comments though.

I like the site, it actually feels really professional and smooth, however the main image does seem to distract and I don’t think that is a good thing unless you fix up the image. The image itself feels like it was a bad holiday snap and the text was inserted in paint. If I were you I would straighten up the image itself and rearrange the text while smoothing out the font (http://dafont.com) to make it look better.

Otherwise I like it.

Hey sorry for the late reply but life has kept me busy.

Just to address your thoughts actually the look of the picture is intentionally supposed to look like a picture taken on vacation and the type is Helvetica which is the type they use on NY Subway signs which was kinda the point. It does seem to have some jagged edges but I think I have seen that with this font particularly. Thanks again for the feedback.
