Need help with understanding placehold.it

I don’t really get how to useplacehold.it can somebody help me with it.

It’s just a placeholder image for when you need to insert an image during development. Instead of opening Photoshop and creating an image, you can just use the image from the Placehold.it website.

Personally, I use placebear.com… I like bears…

I use placehold.it as one of the image sources in my AnythingSlider demo… just because I’m too lazy to go searching for new images every time I make a demo.

I like to use http://lorempixum.com (or the new domain, http://lorempixel.com). You can choose categories, for instance http://lorempixum.com/400/300/food/ would give you a random image of food at 400x300px:
