    Hi,

I have read the articles on how to move wordpress, deploy wordpress, etc. I can’t get it to work. I had developed a site in the /blog folder, But for production I would like the index.php and .htaccess files in the root of the site domain.com. I have followed several examples including moving the whole site up a level which caused me to get locked out. When I moved just the two files set the path prior to the move with admin and then fixed the path to the core WP in index.php but my site timed out…. Do I need to go brute force and just dump the DB, fix the Bulk SQL data, Drop the tables, then bulk load the tables from the SQL dump? You figure this would be a feature…. Any help about this and best practices would be appreciated.

I’ve had to move WordPress several times for clients. This is the easiest step-by-step.
