Hello, I have a domain name that does very well in the search engines. I am considering designing a new site and changing the domain name for branding reasons. I know about 301 redirects and I was planning on writing a redirect for each article and page on the current site to the new one.

My question is, if I take the time to do this properly, what repercussions if any will I face? For example, will a search engine be able to count an incoming link even if it is redirected?

Any insight would be very helpful.

    Thanks.

With google webmaster tools, you can tell them that you have changed your domain name so that your pagerank stats, etc. are still there. Don’t know about any other search engines.
