I’d like to get a couple 24″ displays for my macbook while at home. What are some alternatives to dropping 1K on a thunderbolt display?

It’s a IPS LCD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPS_panel)
Running two? Off a macbook? Everyone a talk to seems to suggest the ultrasharp line.
Of off Dell Precision T7500 workstation. I’ve been extremely happy with UltraSharp line. And it’s a IPS panel, which is great if you are viewing the screen at the angle, it’s also great for photo editing, supports Adobe RGB, HDMi support… etc…
hmmm, getting conflicting reports as to weather I can even run 2 NON thunderbolt displays off my macbook.
