Hi, I attended for an interview at Teesside for Graphic Design, I personally liked the uni, but not the surroundings. Personally I think it has a scruffy surrounding. Take a look at Sunderland, Newcastle and Northumbria Uni’s.

Northumbria and Newcastle are more prestigious but they may not offer the course you are looking for, also they may have higher requirements. On the other hand for me Sunderland and Teesside had the same requirements to get in.

Location wise, Northumbria and Newcastle are in the heart of Newcastle (city) but for business courses Northumbria has more than one campus (don’t worry its close to Newcastle city). They also both have metro (train) stations close to them.

Hope you find good advise from my answer, but again Teesside has a nice campus, just not the surroundings.

The surrounding? As in, the uni is in the outskirt of the city? Or the insecurity?

So did you later study Graphics Design at Teesside?

    Just outside the ‘gates’

    >Study at Teesside?

No, I went for an interview to show my portfolio, I was accepted but I would rather go to Northumbria.

I think @BenWalker highlighted it which fits your goals best. Although, some have been quite successful without a business degree. Such as Ryan Carson, founder of Treehouse (Computer Science degree) and John Resig, founder of jQuery (Computer Science degree).

    > It will start talking about all kinds of stuff like java, fortlan and stuff like that. I want to do an Msc in Computing which basically focuses on deepening one’s skill in web development and security.

If you want to know what’s going on under the hood, there is nothing wrong with Computer Science. You will learn the basics of software development, down to how a program is read by the processor and how instructions work on registers and the memory stack. You will also learn object oriented design, how databases work, how graphics are rendered and how networking protocols work. Sure they might use Java to teach you that but it’s really not about which language you use, it applies to all computer languages. Knowing how all that works can help you write more efficient code.

Maybe I misunderstood you though and you’re talking about know what’s going on on CSS/JS level, but I don’t think you need a study for that.

Yes. I understand, but the course am doing now is already covering those stuff. Like Programming in C, RDBMS, Operating Systems, Unix with Shel Programming, Management Information System, Software Engineering, Introduction to Microprocessor, Computer Organization and Architecture, etc.

I like the Msc course in Computing instead of the one in Advanced Computer Science.

Why not just apply for Computer Sciences. I’m sure website stuff is a topic, you also get to widen your skill set. Although you may need some general knowledge of the course content as its a MA course (masters).

@BenWalker, i meet their requirements. It’s just First Degree and a TOEFL score.
I think Teesside will be ok for me.
