    Hi there, I am currently working on a tutorial re:dynamic websites. I have just downloaded the MAMP software. The tutorial I am working from then tells me to place a folder into htdocs which I have done. It then tells me to open a browser and type in http://localhost/cosmo_shop (cosmo_shop being the title of the folder I placed into htdocs) to check if the server works correctly. Safari, however, cannot find the server. Can anyone please help?

    I think your index file and other “pages” need to be directly in the htdocs. Then try http://localhost or 127.0.0.1

    It can’t find the SERVER or it can’t find the cosmo_shop FOLDER?

    If it’s the first, your MAMP service might not be started.

    Thanks for the help, I just continued with the tutorial and worked it out, cheers.
