Making Buttons Round in IE?

  • # January 13, 2012 at 3:47 pm

These buttons are great. I just want the edges to be round in IE like they are in Firefox. Has anyone come across this problem/solved this problem?

IE10 supports border-radius (I think), but until then, you will need to use an image.

i did, the only way i could find is to use a jpeg image with white background (or whatever colour the background of the container, where you want to add the button). as, IE sometimes even does not support png.

IE5 and 6 can (sorta) be made to work with transparent pngs. See here:

Chris made a tutorial on this:
Or use :before and :after, to place a jpg on each side, with a background for the link that matches the sides (can be a very thin, repeated on x picture)

@cyneWATCH, :before and :after are supported on only the browsers that support transparent pngs, so that wouldn’t do any more good than a png.
