Hello,
Is the base model of mac mini any good for web development?
I am a pc user right now and thinking of making the switch, so RAM memory aside what are your opinions?
Web development (coding) requires very little processing power. It all depends on what you want to do.
In my opinion it really is how you like to develop websites to what computer to buy. A mac mini should be sufficient for development in terms of power but i depends what size screen you want. For example if you want a clean all in one machine with a big screen and iMac is great if you want the portability then a Macbook Pro would perhaps be better?
I will be using Photoshop to slice designs, and some very basic software like Sublime Text which I already know that it has a small resource footprint, maybe a local install of apache, mysql, php.
So the requirements are not too big in my opinion.
The problem with iMac and mbp is that here I must pay almost double the price, living in EU.
