Looking for feedback on my Portfolio

I know the content is pretty sparse right now but I’d love some feedback regarding the design and the code of this website, built on WordPress. Please pull no punches :D

I think it looks pretty good!

I have a problem with the About page, however. The text looks really awkward there. The "My Skills" and the "Hi I’m Mike…" kind of clash with each other. They would definitely be better off if they weren’t side by side.

That is one of the exact points I was hoping for a comment on as I wasn’t sure it was awkward or not.

Yea, I really like the feel of it. The grungy top with some crisp content area is nice. I’m not a big fan of the colors, but that might just be because it’s late… :roll:

All I can say, is you better get blogging; that sidebar looks lonely.

I appreciate your comment on the grunge / crisp contrast – what about the colors is it that you’re not into?
Is it the overall browny feel, the orange links?

And I hear ya on the blogging! That sidebar will be filled up in no time :D

I honestly don’t know. If you force me to guess, it would be one of the following:
a) The combination of brown around the edges, and purple and blue in your content (portfolio, blog post, etc.) or
b) It’s just the shades of yellow/brown/tan that just look "blah" or
c) I’m grumpy and tired
