    I’ve looked into this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Running_a_Development_Copy_of_WordPress

I’m not sure if that’s exactly what I want. I’d like to be able to run my local installation with MAMP and when I add/edit those tables they also get applied to the remote database. Minus the home and siteurl of course.

    Best way to do it?

    Hands down: https://deliciousbrains.com/wp-migrate-db-pro/

Simplest way of keeping your local install and remote install in sync by pushing your local database to a remote one, or pulling the remote database to your local one.

Or syncing one remote database with another one. Etc.
