I´m planning to launch a website which appeals to English & Spanish speakers. I am based in spain, but there are a huge number of English people here. I own the .com and .es for the domain name I want to use. If I launch it as .com, and have the English translation as my primary homepage, how do I become optimized by google.es? If I produce a Spanish translated page, with Spanish Meta tags- will google.es automatically index this as if it was my homepage?

If you want to be optimized in Spanish and English, would you need to launch a Spanish and English hosting account?

Also, what are the golden rules for a site to be successfully indexed by google? Successful optimization.

    Many thanks.

I’m not sure on your language question, but here is some info on optimizing for Google – straight from the horse’s mouth: http://www.google.com/webmasters/docs/search-engine-optimization-starter-guide.pdf
