    Hello all:

I just completed redesigning my portfolio site where you’ll find multiple galleries featuring graphics design work, paintings, books, photos and other items I dabble in. Much thanks goes out to Chris for the Anything Slider script, which serves as the base of the galleries on that site.

Looking forward to any feedback, including the harshest of critiques, simple comments, and of course the occasional compliment :-)

    Thanks,

    Enon Avital.

    Hey Enon,

I do both web & graphic design and a little art also. There are probably varying opinions about this, but when planning the latest iteration of my site I was torn and it took me a good long while to decide whether to add some kind of "art" section to feature my artwork since it showed another creative side and etc.

Eventually I decided that while web and graphic design clients might be interested in looking at it on a personal level, it distracted from and diluted the branding I was trying to achieve as a freelance designer. Bad enough I do both web and print instead of solely one or the other and juggling that is already a branding issue — throwing art in the mix would be a third focus.

You might think about creating a separate site for the art/photography/books. Having them separate means your clients won’t have to wonder if you’re going to be a flaky artist spending your time painting when you should be working on their projects. And you can even put your art site into the portfolio of the web design part of your design site ;)
