jumpy clip-path with transition and translateX

Hello,

I am having a strange problem with a translateX transition on an element which gets clipped by a clip-path:
The clip partly vanishes while transitioning.

Nevermind, I found elsewhere that if I use transform: translate3d instead, it works smoothly … go figure.
