    I found this really interesting:

    http://www.creativebloq.com/web-design/manage-large-scale-web-projects-new-css-architecture-itcss-41514731

There’s a video in there that shows a test project.

I like a lot of Harry’s ideas here. I’m going to test them out and see how they do for me in the real world on my next project.

Yesterday I spent the day refactoring my personal boilerplate CSS framework in ITCSS. I’m probably halfway through all my ideas, but I’m definitely liking it so far.

    https://github.com/ASUS-US/ASUS-Framework/tree/master/src/sass

I still need to set up proper documentation, but with everything I’ve got on my plate that’s a lower priority when I’m the only one using it ;)

    Thoughts so far:

    • I’ve always been a fan of splitting CSS up into smaller and smaller fragments. That was one of the things I loved about the automation and preprocessors that have come around in the last few years. This takes it to the next level, but it’s all very organized with everything in a logical place.
    • I was drawn to this in the first place because I liked the general idea. Not only is your markup organized from generic to specific as you go inward, but now the CSS is too. Going from low to high specificity as an organizational tool is really helpful.
    • I came across a few situations where I wanted to break some rules and I did, but I had to really think about the best way to go about it. There are always exceptions, just make sure they’re well documented for your team.

I’ll probably report back some other time after I’ve used this on a full-scale project in June-ish.

This feels like it covers the “missing aspects” of architectures like SMACSS. I’ll be watching (and doing at some point).

OK so I’ve finally used this in a real project. I’m convinced that as far as organizing CSS this is a great way to do it.

This project was done on an unreasonable deadline so my CSS structure still needs work, but at least you can see how I put the ITCSS part together.

On to the next thing to learn…

@shaneisme good stuff, remember the first time you posted this… it’s on my to-read-understand-do list. Thanks for reporting back.

Nice! I’ll watch when I can.

I’ve only seen a screencast he did looking through his folder structure.
