This example highlights the corresponding content based on a target link. Using CSS3, this is simple with the :target selector The only problem here is that it doesn’t work in IE8. Surprisingly though, it does work in IE6 and IE7.

    Here’s my example…

Does anyone know why ie8 won’t cooperate?

Do you see anything I did wrong here?
    Thanks for helping…

Are your IE Conditional statements working OK for Selectivizr?

    Just a thought.

I edited my original response a couple of times (as I was taking gibberish) but I would suspect that the answer lies somewhere in there.

    EDIT: Guess not.

Could you just try targeting IE8 specifically (ignoring anything lower for now) and see if that works?

    IF IE8?

    Like how? With the “selectivizr.js”?

    Or with the page declaration?

    Just the selectivizr.js.

That’s what SHOULD be allowing you to get this to work in IE8 but, isn’t…for some reason. My only guess is that, for some reason the JS isn’t kicking in for IE8.

I added that selectivizr.js in the hope that it would get the css3 selector :target to work. Funny thing is, ie6-7 don’t even need the slectivizr.js, because they use the “suckerfish.js”

Unfortunately, ie8 is about 60% of the visitors to our site
