Is a 23" monitor small?

I bought two 23″ monitors about 4 months ago. I plan to hook them up to my new PC when I have the time to build it. However… I’ve been using one of them with my laptop. And now it seems small. Perhaps I’ve just gotten used to it but it definitely seems so average sized to me. Anyway, I’m thinking about getting a third monitor because I’m eating up screen space like it’s going out of style. I’m wondering… should I get a 27″ to go in the middle? Or should I get a third of the same one?

One catch: It would have to be a 27″ that is 1920 x 1080 because the next resolution bump is just too damn expensive. The one I REALLY want is like $700 for a monitor. So… scratch that. I could go up to like $250 a third monitor. Even at that price, I’ll have over $500 in monitors… which seems excessive but I’m addicted to having everything open at once :)

Depends on if you’re comparing it to a 19″ or a 27″. I can understand it staring to feel “average,” but anything will, given enough time to get used to it.

If you get a third monitor, my compulsiveness says you should get another of the same size. If you want a larger resolution, check out a shimian or x-star: 27″, 1440p for around $300.

Personally, I’d love to have dual 34″, 3440×1440 monitors…
but it’s just a bit expensive. : )

I think I’ll get another 23″. The reason is because with 3… anything larger and they’ll not comfortably fit within my peripheral vision. Also, I’ve been spending some time tweaking BSPWM and I think another monitor of a different resolution will only complicate things.

I’m already saving a ton of screen space my going tiled. No need to over do it.

This reminds me of the time I bout a 47″ TV. Seemed huge when I first got it. Then… it just seemed average. Now, a 60″ TV seems “big.”

Oh my NEXT setup will be all 27″ monitors in portrait orientation. I think about 6 will do!
