images shrink on iPad but not the containing div

here is a website I’m making for someone

there is a slideshow as you can see but on the iPad the images shrink, but the box with the border around it the div that contains those images does not shrink suit looks so strange!?

small images inside the box.
what can I do about this.
the website looks fine otherwise and I don’t need to style it for the iPad.
why won’t the box shrink to size along the rest of the stuff.
