image right and left with expanding space in between. HELP

I and two images,
left and right.

I fade the left image on the right hand side
and the right image on the left hand side

So that there is a color in the middle.

How do I implement the code so that the middle space with a color to the size of the browser.

IE.
Left Image (with right hand blue fade) – Blue (size determined by CSS) – Right Image with left hand fade from blue)

Ive created both images and the fade.
I want both images to show and what is left in the middle to fill with the color.

Can any one help me??
