Hello,
Can someone please explain to my why:
1. the overlay is 3px bigger
2. the text/icon is no is not centered horizontally and vertically?
The overlay is ‘larger’ because the image has not been set to display:block
and so is affected by whitespace.
As for vertical centering, just set the line-height
of to the height of the div
Thank you Paulie_D – What if the hight of the div is not known?
You can always position the i
absolutely too! :)
Thats a very simple trick. The final issue is that the link does not work, and i struggle to find a way to make the functionality (just the image with a link, forget the sweet overlay) work in IE8.
The link is probably a matter of a z-index
.
However, what I think you really want is for the link be the whole pop-up and contain the ‘overlay’ and i
.
As for IE8…I don’t support it generally but it should work.
