    Hi guys,

I am taking a bit of an issue with Internet Exlporer. This is my first really "big" undertaking with web development so please bear with me.

I have noticed that when testing my portfolio site in IE7 and IE8 that the scrolling and overall functionality is very, very slow. This isn’t the case in Chrome and FF and I was wondering what I might be able to do to remedy this.

    Thanks,

    Nico

Lots of coffee later and I’ve found the culprit.

I am using a jQuery featured content slider that uses a transparent .png for the image captions. Removing this dramatically increased IE7 and IE8’s performance. I’ve read a lot about how IE7 handles (or doesn’t) transparent .png files but I’m afraid I’m a bit lost in the sea of information.

Any help/dumb-down explanation would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!
