Hello,
I’m thinking of changing my hosting provider, can anyone suggest me how to transfer wordpress from one server to other.
thanks
@iamrdm Export the database to your computer and copy your wp-content
folder to your computer.
On the new server, import your database then, download WordPress and upload it via ssh or sftp. Go through the setup process as normal. Replace the wp-content
folder with your old one.
There are countless step by step tutorials on this if you googled.
Always make backups of (wp-content folder, your theme folder and mysql export of your database)!
I like to install WordPress first. Then import the data using WordPress Tools >> Import / Export
feature.

…or do that. I haven’t used WP in quite a while. Just going off the top of my head on this.
@alen that’s it ?
Actually I have around 450 posts and each post is having 1 photo attached to it.
Nothing else required ?
@chrisburton Google is giving a lot of different ways, its confusing.

The data stored in the database handles some of that. The wp-content folder keeps some of the content that the database uses to store URLs to that content (e.g. urls of image locations).
@alenabdula @chrisburton thanks a lot guys (y) you guys saved me some bucks :D
