I am a programmer with experience in server side coding. I am actually not interested in web design (front end). But this days all jobs related web development requires using html, css, ajax, flex. So I have to learn this thing with much reluctance. But I want to minimize the efforts. I want to learn the standard techniques used universally like tabs, drop-down/popup, floating things and just copy-paste stuffs. So i want to know how to learn how these things are done? Is there any books for these stuffs? Thanks.
Best way to do it I think is with practical examples… there are books out there but seems as though you can code, you already know basic HTML at the least… I would check out the video tutorials on CSS-Tricks but my other fav place to learn is http://net.tutsplus.com/
Practical examples are always the best way so dive on in
